The Bangladesh cricket team is currently in New Zealand for a T20I tri-series against hosts and fellow visitors Pakistan. The series serves as a testing ground for the three sides prior to the T20 World Cup in Australia later this month.

Several members of the Bangladesh coaching staff are also in Christchurch along with the players. However, team’s pace bowling coach Allan Donald is yet to arrive to New Zealand due to some complications with tickets.

The first match of the tri-series will be played between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The Bangladesh pace bowling coach and former South African speedster Allan Donald was not able to fly with the team initially as he had his ticket cancelled due to some complications.

The cricketer-turned-coach had to manage his ticket again and is now expected to join his side on October 9. Notably, the team will be facing hosts New Zealand in the second match of the series on the same day.

While speaking with the reporters, Bangladesh cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said:

“Donald will join the team on October 9”

The series will be immediately followed by the T20 World Cup in Australia, where Bangladesh will be placed in Group 2.

Other teams in the group are Pakistan, India, South Africa and two teams from the qualifying round of the tournament. Bangladesh will launch their campaign on October 24 against one of the qualifiers at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval.
