England have created history while touring Pakistan after a span of 17 years. Under the leadership of Moeen Ali, the Englishmen defeated the favorites in the seven-match T20I series by 4-3. It was a series-decider on Sunday and England recorded a victory by 67 runs.

The visitors enjoyed a one-sided victory owing to a splendid batting effort. Dawid Malan’s 78 and Harry Brook’s 46 steered Moeen Ali-led side to a total of 209 runs. Chasing the score, Pakistan were restricted to only 142 runs as Chris Woakes picked a three-wicket haul while David Willey had two under his belt.

England’s head coach Matthew Mott seemed delighted with the series win as he hailed his team for a brilliant performance. The coach believes that they are ready for the T20 World Cup, scheduled in Australia this month. He also lauded the team for doing well despite so many injury concerns.

Mott speaks about the injury concerns

Ahead of the tour, England were dealt with a massive blow as the skipper Jos Buttler and all-rounder Liam Livingstone succumbed to injuries. The seamer Mark Wood also missed the initial few matches to regain his 100 percent fitness.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mott said,

"We came over here with some injury clouds, but we got through. Wood got through a few games, Woakes got through a couple. We're building nicely with that depth that we're after for the World Cup.”

The head coach lauds Duckett and Brook

The head coach also reflected on England’s playing XI. He believes that they are close to finding the perfect XI, but a lot will depend on the playing conditions. Mott revealed that they will be tinkering with the team throughout the tournament as the conditions in Australia are quite different. England are most likely to make a decision following their three-match T20I series against Australia, scheduled from October 9 to October 14.

Further, the former first-class cricketer lauded the young Harry Brook and Ben Duckett for their splendid performance against the Green Army. Brook ended up as the highest run-getter for England, with 238 runs in six innings at a good average of 79.33 and a strike rate of 163.01.

Duckett also looked good with 233 runs to his name in seven matches. Speaking about the 27-year-old, Mott said that he was the real momentum changer for England due to his spin-playing ability.
