According to emerging reports, USA Cricket has been at the receiving end of multiple reprimands from International Cricket Council due to an administrative crisis.

Atul Rai, who was recently named interim board chairman after winning the USA Cricket general elections, sent a letter to all stakeholders on Friday (September 30). In his note, Rai highlighted the sad state of affairs ahead of USA Cricket AGM next Sunday (October 9).

Rai also intimated the members of the long-withstanding issue of players' and administrative staff salaries.

Meanwhile, ICC is strict due to the fact of the USA co-hosting the 2024 T20 World Cup along with the Cricket West Indies.

Amid rising governance issues, the apex board has warned USA Cricket of temporary suspension of funding as well as losing all administrative duties, in regard to the T20 WC.

The election, which saw Rai taking over as the chairman, faced a delay of 17 months. Furthermore, the cancellation of three ODIs against Ireland last December forced a loss of sponsorship and TV revenue for USA Cricket, which has worsened the situation.

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice visited the USA recently to have a discussion with the administrators in Texas and California, to inspect potential venues for the showpiece event.

In this regard, Rai is still confident of successfully organizing the T20 WC and is in active talks with ICC and West Indies board.

"I have been engaging with the ICC and Cricket West Indies to start a dialogue on the broader engagement and partnership for USA Cricket with regards to the 2024 World Cup hosting," Rai wrote.

"I strongly believe that USA Cricket should be the co-hosts for the World Cup, along with Cricket West Indies.
