Former South African speedster, Makhaya Ntini believes that Temba Bavuma's form is a cause of worry for coach Mark Boucher heading into the T20 World Cup this month.

In 5 T20I innings this year, the Proteas white-ball skipper has scored just 61 runs, at an average of 15.25.

In the recently concluded opening T20I game between India and South Africa, Bavuma perished without evening troubling the scorers. He faced four deliveries and was knocked over by Deepak Chahar.

Ntini reckons that South Africa still have a chance to replace Bavuma with Reeza Hendricks, who is in the form of his life at the moment.

"It's one of those things Mark Boucher has to think of as he has got players around him. Since Bavuma is failing, it's a chance for Reeza Hendricks to come back and represent South Africa, especially after he scored four half-centuries in a row," Ntini said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

"Bavuma needs to think where he wants to go from now. He needs to make sure that everyone follows him whatever he does as a leader," Ntini further added.

On Sunday, South Africa are set to collide against India in the 2nd T20I of the series and all eyes will be on how Bavuma performs in this crucial contest.
