England trumped Pakistan in the sixth T20I to level the seven-match series 3-3. Visiting opener Phil Salt was adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for whacking 88 rapid runs from just 41 deliveries.

After the win, England’s interim skipper Moeen Ali praised his top-order batters for their brutal assault over the hosts. Their attacking approach enabled the visitors to overhaul Pakistan’s 169-run total with more than five overs to spare.

Moeen Ali says preserving wickets upfront key in chases

After the match, English captain Moeen Ali praised his side’s top-order and credited them for sticking to the process. The same batting line-up had faltered in the previous two games of the series, which saw the visitors lose out to the ‘Men in Green’ in the final overs of the match.

Ali acknowledged the team’s improvement and cited preservation of wickets at the top as the key difference in the win. He added that all his batters played orthodox shots and still kept going after Pakistan’s bowling. The veteran all-rounder said:

“Very happy. The way we batted was brilliant. It shows that if we stick to the process, it helps. The difference is if we don't lose wickets upfront, we can keep going after the bowling. There were all orthodox shots played, and enjoyed it. This has been a brilliant series so far, and looking forward to the decider on Sunday.”
