Babar Azam and co. went down to England by eight wickets in the sixth T20I of their seven-match series. The two sides will now collide in the series-decider on Sunday, October 2 in Lahore.

After the match, the Pakistan captain praised the English batters for their clinical run-chase and expressed his confidence of an improved show in the next match.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored an unbeaten 87 and top-scored for his side in their 169-run total. However, his courageous knock was tendered in vain by English opener Phil Salt, who whacked an unbeaten 88 from just 41 balls.

After the match, Azam stated that his side was initially aiming to reach 170, but believes he later realised they were 10 runs short in the end.

He also praised the English batters for their attacking approach in the run-chase and hoped for a better performance from his team in the next match.

“Yeah, definitely. I think with the way the pitch was behaving, we were aiming for 170. But I think we were short by ten runs in the end. We really tried hard but couldn't get through.

"They batted really well. There was a lot of dew. They bowled well as well. But we were able to get around 170. The dew made it the bowlers hard to grip the ball. Shadab did well. They came all gun blazing from the beginning. We will come back stronger in the next game.”
