Indian opener KL Rahul was full of praise for his teammate Arshdeep Singh following the left-arm seamers' terrific performance against South Arica in the 1st T20I.

On a pitch that was tailormade for swing bowling, young Arshdeep got the ball to move in both directions, leaving the South African batters gasping for breath.

Speaking to Star Sports following his brilliant unbeaten 51* (off 56 deliveries), KL Rahul described his Punjab Kings' teammate as a smart bowler, who 'bowls with a lot of heart'.

Rahul also attributed Arshdeep as the No.1 death bowler of his bowling-unit at the Punjab Kings.

Here's what KL Rahul said:

"Arshdeep Singh is a young talent. I have played with him. He knows his strengths. He bowls with a lot of heart. It is phenomenal to be the number one death bowler in a team where Kagiso Rabada plays''

Arshdeep Singh ran riot after a perfect start from Deepak Chahar

The tone for the innnigs was set by Deepak Chahar, who got rid of the South African skipper Temba Bavuma in the very first over.

The right-arm seamer set-up Bavuma beautifully with a series of away going deliveries before getting one to jag back into the batter.

It was a sign of things to come as Arshdeep got rid of Rilee Rossouw and then David Miller with an outswinger and an inswinger respectively. This was after he had forced Quinton de Kock to chop it onto his stumps in his 1st over.

Singh eventually finished with figures of 3/32 in 4 overs, and was rightly awarded the 'Player of the Match'.
