The South Australia-based cricketer has said that she is excited to join the Sixers and play alongside the likes of Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner. The 19-year-old also stated that she is looking forward to learn from Sixers’ coach and English legend Charlotte Edwards.

“The girls in the South Australia Scorpions squad who played alongside Charlotte when she was here have said she was tremendous, offering the group invaluable knowledge. I am very excited to be joining. I’m looking forward to experiencing a new club, new culture.”

Meanwhile, Edwards herself has heaped praise on the youngster. The cricketer-turned-coach believes that a fast bowler like Kate can add depth to their squad. The English legend also described the youngster as a player with a “great attitude” who can field and bat as well.

“I’d heard good things about Kate. A good young fast bowler with a great attitude and who can also field and bat well. We wanted more bowling depth to our squad, and Kate will offer us that.”
