The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the squads and schedule of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QEAT) 2022-23.
The 65th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 is set to begin tomorrow (September 27) as the premium First-Class (FC) tournament of domestic cricket.
Defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will start their campaign against Balochistan while last edition’s finalists Northern will lock horns with Southern Punjab (SP). Sindh, on the other hand, will face Central Punjab (CP). Each side will meet each other twice in the ten-round group stage.
The final of the red-ball tournament will be played from 26 to 30 November for which the venue is yet to be decided by the board.
Yasir Shah, Azhar Ali, Khalid Usman, Umar Amin, Saud Shakeel, and Hasan Ali have been named captains of Balochistan, Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Sindh, and Southern Punjab respectively.
PCB have decided on the venues for the first five-round matches of the tournament. The first five matches will be held in Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, and Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium respectively.
Whereas, the remaining five-round matches will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Multan Cricket Stadium, Abbottabad Cricket Stadium and Rawalpindi’s stadium.
