England skipper Moeen Ali believes the duo of Ben Duckett and Harry Brook were ruthless with their approach to secure a big victory over Pakistan on Friday in Karachi.

Being put to bat first, England could not get off to a great start with the dismissals of Phil Salt and Dawid Malan. However, the 43-run stand between Will Jacks and Ben Duckett provided stability to the visitors.

Harry Brook, who has been in tremendous form this year, collected boundaries in consistent intervals, while Duckett played the anchor role. The duo added an unbeaten 139 runs partnership for the fourth wicket, which propelled England to a total of 221.

The second half witnessed the English bowling unit reduce Pakistan to 28/4, with Mark Wood spearheading the department.

Pakistan could accumulate only 158 on the board in 20 overs, with Shan Masood scoring 65* off 40 balls.

Moeen was elated with the team's terrific win, despite missing their experienced players. He also lauded Wood's performance in his first outing after recovering from his injury.

"That was a brilliant win. We were ruthless tonight with the bat in particular. The partnership was fantastic between two brilliant players, Brook showed his class and he has the potential to grow into a big player.

"Some really good players who are not here, guys sitting on the bench but the future of English cricket is in safe hands. That ball from Wood was really quick, great to have him back, and he is a massive part of this team and has a massive role to play in the World Cup."
