Inzamam-Ul-Haq pinpoints the problem of current Pakistan bowling attack

Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, on Thursday (September 22) put on an unbeaten 203-run partnership to help the hosts claim a thumping 10-wicket victory over England in the second T20I in Karachi. 

While Babar Azam scored a scintillating century, Mohammed Rizwan scored an undefeated 88 as the pair took Pakistan over the line with three balls to spare at the National Stadium. 

However, Rizwan & Babar Azam's record-breaking partnership and Pakistan's emphatic victory in the second T20I will not suppress the fact that the Pakistan bowling attack conceded nearly 200 runs to England.

Pakistan bowlers leaked 49 runs in the final four overs, with Moeen Ali leading the charge as he played a whirlwind knock of unbeaten 55 off just 22 balls to finish England's destructive inning on high. 

The legendary Pakistan batter and former captain, Inzamam-Ul-Haq poured his thoughts on the same and said that Pakistan's bowling attack is not as strong as it looks, especially in the absence of their ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. 

Speaking on Pakistan's bowling attack on his YouTube channel, here's what Inzamam-Ul-Haq said: 

“Our bowling is not as strong as we think about it. We have speedsters who can bowl at 140, but since Shaheen Afridi’s absence, we have only bowled well in small parts and not full 20 overs.” 

“We bowl well with the new ball, take wickets and generate swing, but everything changes once the ball gets old. They didn’t bowl in the death overs in our conditions. It is worth noting that England has not been a strong team over the last six or eight months.” 

Youngsters Should Learn From Haris Rauf: Inzamam-Ul-Haq

Among the pacers taken to the cleaners by England batters in the second T20I was Mohammad Hasnain, who gave away 54 runs in his quota of four overs while failing to scalp a single wicket.

Haris Rauf, the right-arm quick meanwhile emerged as the most economical bowler, having conceded runs at an economy of 7.50 in his four overs' spells while picking two wickets as well. 

The batting veteran rates Rauf highly and urged the young Pakistan bowlers like Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah to learn from him while heading into the gala event Down under.

"Haris Rauf has been brilliant. I feel he has improved in the last two years and can now bowl in the powerplay, middle, and end overs. Similarly, Naseem and Hasnain need to learn fast ahead of the T20 World Cup.”
