The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will likely undergo a fresh election process in the 91st Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled on October 18 in Mumbai.

"There's no official intimation as yet, but the top bosses of the BCCI have informed the state associations officials about the Board elections and AGM on October 18 in Mumbai," a source said as quoted to The Times of India.

According to Cricbuzz, AK Jyothi has filled the position of the electoral officer for the elections due to happen in October. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah will possibly send the AGM notification in the next few days.

Ganguly's tenure as BCCI president likely to end

The decks were supposedly cleared by the Supreme Court for the board's office-bearers by rewriting the cooling-off clause. However, as reported by Insidesport, dark clouds hover over Sourav Ganguly's future as the BCCI president.

With Shah touted as the next president of India's apex cricket body, Ganguly will challenge for the position of the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman. Current BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal can supersede Shah as the next secretary.
