England's pace sensation Luke Wood said he enjoyed his debut after claiming the man of the match award for his brilliant spell with the ball to help England win the first T20I at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Wood, who earned his international debut on the back of strong performances in the domestic circuit has made a strong start to his England career.

The Lancashire left-armer showed no signs of nervousness in the first international outing as he conceded just 12 of his very first two overs of the spell and also managed to get a strangled Lbw appeal against Mohammad Rizwan.

In his second spell, he took three crucial scalps and conceded a mere 24 runs to complete his full quota of four overs. He outfoxed Mohammad Nawaz with a jaffa and sent his stumps cartwheeling. Thereon, he induced a false shot from Iftikhar Ahmed when he was looking ominous and his final wicket was Naseem Shah as he miscued a skier.

Reflecting on his match-winning contribution with the ball, the skiddy left-arm pacer said that he enjoyed his debut and also highlighted the importance of taking wickets with the ball in the death overs.

"It was an enjoyable debut. It's different to England, it was a team performance and great to start with a win. They were off to a good start, so it was important to restrict them at the back end with wickets and the batters then did a good job," said Like Wood after winning the player of the match award in the first T20I against Pakistan in Karachi."
