IND vs AUS: Aaron Finch puts an end to his T20I retirement rumours

Defending T20 champions Australia will lock horns with hosts India in a three-match T20I series starting tonight.

Before the all-important first game in Mohali, Australian captain Aaron Finch has dismissed the rumours surrounding his T20I retirement.

Notably, the recent ODI series against New Zealand saw Finch horribly out of form, as he managed only ten runs in three outings. Following such a disastrous series, Finch instantly retired from the 50-over format. So fans as well as experts believed he would hang up his boots after the World Cup.

However, the veteran opener admitted to enjoying T20 cricket and stuck to not bidding adieu to the shortest format anytime soon.

Here's what Finch stated

"I’m not putting an end date on anything T20 related just yet. It’s still exciting. I love touring with the Australian team,"

"In T20 cricket I feel as though my form has been really good for quite a while now. If you separate the ODI form and the T20 form, they’re totally different."

In 92 T20Is, Finch has slammed 2855 runs at an impressive average of 35.25 and a magnificent strike rate of 145.29. He holds the record for most T20I runs by an Australian batter against India, and therefore, we expect him to put up some match-winning performances in the series.
