With the T20I World Cup 2022 fast-approaching, Team India will clash with Australia and South Africa in the respective home series in the bid to keep themselves well prepared for the showpiece event.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's return to form would have served as a solace amidst the gloom of the Asia Cup loss. Although India fizzled out in the tournament, Kohli found himself among runs as he finished second in the list of top-scorers in the competition.

The star batter has regained his old touch, and as usual, he is eyeing major batting milestones ahead of the upcoming three T20 ties, scheduled against Australia.

With just 98 runs shy of the 11,000-run mark in T20 cricket, Kohli may not take very long to break the barrier. As of now, the 33-year-old has scored 10,902 runs in 349 T20 matches at an average and strike-rate of 40.37 and 132.95, respectively.

In addition to this, he is closing in on the record of becoming the second-highest run-scorer for India in international cricket. Present India head coach Rahul Dravid, who ended his international career with 24,208 runs in his name, is 206 runs ahead of Kohli with the latter sitting at 24,002 runs currently.

The three-match T20I series between India and Australia begins from September 20 at Mohali.
