New Zealand Cricket (NZC), who missed the deadline to name New Zealand's 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia in October, will be announcing their touring party for the marquee event on September 20.

Paceman Adam Milne could find his way into the squad after missing out on international cricket for most of 2022 due to an Achilles injury that he suffered in July.  As per stuff.co.nz, Milne will be required to prove his fitness ahead of the announcement next Tuesday.

Milne's career has been plagued with injuries, with the lanky bowler missing the 2015 ICC World Cup due to an injury. The 30-year-old came in as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson at the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE.

All-rounder Kyle Jamieson is expected to miss the flight to Australia after failing to recover from his back injury.

New Zealand cricket team's official Twitter handle posted

“Coach Gary Stead will name our 15-man squad to compete at this year’s @T20WorldCup in Australia at Auckland’s Avondale College on Tuesday the 20th of September,"

The Blackcaps are placed in Super 12 Group 1 alongside defending champions Australia, Afghanistan, England, and two qualifiers from Round 1.  They clash against Tasman rivals Australia in the tournament opener at SCG on October 22.
