St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots secured an eight-wicket victory over the Jamaica Tallawahs in Match 17 of Caribbean Premier League 2022 at Port of Spain.

Raymon Reifer propels Tallawahs to a competitive total

Invited to bat first, Tallawahs got off to a stable start, with the talented opening pair in Brandon King and Kennar Lewis. However, the dismissals of both batters opened a mini floodgate for the Patriots.

Amir Jangoo and the skipper Rovman Powell could not provide notable contributions, and Tallawahs were at 86/4 in the 13th over.

However, the in-form Raymon Reifer remained unbeaten on 40 off 26, while getting support from Fabian Allen (23) to help Tallawahs post 139 on the board. Rashid Khan returned with figures of 1/8 in four overs for the Patriots.

Fletcher, Bravo seal second win for Patriots

Due to the rain, the Patriots needed 113 runs off 15 overs to win the game. In response, the experienced opening duo of Andre Fletcher and Evin Lewis were clinical to make good use of fielding restrictions.

Before Lewis (20) was dismissed, the duo had already added 49 runs in five overs. Then, Darren Bravo looked in sublime touch to hit 39 off 21, laced with three fours and as many sixes.

Fletcher played an anchor role to score 45* off 38, while Sherfane Rutherford finished the chase in the 13th over with a six.

Brief Scores:

Jamaica Tallawahs - 139/5 (20)

Raymon Reifer 40* (26), Kennar Lewis 24 (17);
Rashid Khan 1/8, Akila Dananjaya 1/28

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots - 113/2 (12.3) [Target 113 runs in 15 overs]

Andre Fletcher 45* (38), Darren Bravo 39 (21);
Imad Wasim 1/19, Fabian Allen 1/19

Result: Patriots won by 8 wickets (D/L method)
