Cricket Australia has named a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India.

In an unfortunate turn of events, veteran speedster Mitchell Starc and experienced all-rounders Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis have been sidelined from the tour owing to injuries.

While Marsh has sustained an ankle injury, Starc and Stoinis have seen their ouster after developing a knee injury and side strain, respectively.

Nathan Ellis has been added as Starc's replacement, while seam bowling all-rounders Daniel Sams and Sean Abbott have made it into the team, replacing Marsh and Stoinis.

Although Australia will miss the services of these marquee players, their replacements are pretty much capable of putting up impactful performances on any given day.

Sams, who can swing the ball both ways, is expected to open the bowling in Starc's absence. The left-arm pacer did a decent job for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 in the power play as well as slog overs.

Abbott was tremendous with the ball in the recently concluded New Zealand ODIs, scalping four wickets at a prolific average of 8 and a magnificent strike rate of 22.50.

On the other hand, Nathan Ellis is known for his incredible death bowling abilities and is set to shoulder the bowling responsibilities in the last five overs.
