Bumrah, Harshal see their return as India announce squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2022

In a remarkable turn of events, Indian selection committee has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. 

While star fast bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have made their ways back into the team, Avesh Khan has been shown the exit door for his ordinary outings in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. 

Axar Patel has been picked up as the lone left-arm spinner in the squad, while veteran tweaker Ravichandran Ashwin has been given another chance to prove his mettle in a showpiece event. 

Mohammad Shami, Deepak Hooda, Ravi Bishnoi and Shreyas Iyer have been picked as the standby players. 

The selectors also picked the squads for the upcoming T2OI series against Australia and South Africa. While Shami has got a place in both teams, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh will be reporting to the NCA for conditioning-related work during the course of these two series.
