Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka was full of praise for his bowling-unit, stating that the variety in their attack can challenge any batting line-up in the world.

The Lankan bowlers dished out yet another brilliant performance in their final Super-4 fixture of Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan as they dismantled the Babar Azam-led unit for a mere 121.

Wrist-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga found form ahead of the final, claiming three wickets including the prized scalp of Babar Azam.

He was duly supported by finger-spinner Maheesh Theekshana and pacer Pramod Madushan, both of whom claimed two wickets apiece.

The variety in Sri Lanka's attack has been a standout feature in this tournament, with the left-arm pace of Dilshan Madushanka setting the tone in the powerplay.

Shanaka stressed on the same during the post-match press-conference. The Lankan captain is hopeful that his bowlers with land early blows on Pakistan in the final, just like they did on Friday.

Here's what Dasun Shanaka said:

"Bowling combination, starting with left-arm fast bowler, off-spinner, leg-spinner, variation from the spinners, any kind of batting line up will be challenged. Lines of fast bowlers in the early stages of the game. If we can get a couple of wickets early in the final it will be good for us,"

I am really happy: Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga

Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga is elated to be back among the wickets following a lean run in the lead-up to Friday's game.

Prior to his outing against Pakistan, Sri Lanka's lead spinner had managed just 3 wickets in 4 games, which includes wicketless outings against India and Afghanistan in the Super-4 stage.

On Friday, Hasaranga looked in his elements against his favored opposition, with the dismissal of Babar being the highlight of his spell.

The wrist-spinner expressed his delight in the presser besides revealing that delivering dot balls early-on in his spell eventually fetched him 3 wickets.

"That's how I try to play when I enter the match. I am really happy because last few games I went for some runs. Have come back strong with some good quality wickets, so happy. I tried bowling dot balls in first few overs, that's why the three wickets came,"

Hasaranga will look to emulate his exploits on Sunday when Sri Lanka squares off against Pakistan in the summit clash.
