Legendary Australian cricketer Brett Lee believes that given the passion for cricket in Nepal, a combination of investment, exposure and right mentorship can transform the fortunes of the game in their country.

Lee was recently appointed mentor for Nepal's first-ever franchise cricket league- Nepal T20.

The cricketer-turned commentator is currently on his first-ever visit to Nepal, where he addressed the media on Friday, and it is fair to say that the fast bowler has been swept away with this kind of passion.

The champion cricketer is excited to be a part of the journey and very keen to see how Nepal Cricket develops in the next 5 years.

Here's what Brett Lee said

“I see passion in Nepal. I have travelled all over the world to watch cricket. I spent a lot of time in India and my home country in Australia. But the passion here is really high and they are going to get better and better.”

“Once the players get the right coaching mechanisms, ways to watch the game and mentorship there's no reason why we can't grow this game over here because there is talent in the country I'm just so excited to see the way cricket is going to improve in Nepal, not over the next twelve months, but over the next five years in general. And it's going to be wonderful to be part of this programme,” he said as quoted by the Kathmandu Times.

The former bolter is quite excited at the prospect of working with young and upcoming talents.

The inaugural season of the Nepal T20 will see six teams vying for glory between September 24-30, 2022.
