T20 World Cup 2022: ICC unveils Schedule of Warmup matches

International Cricket Council (ICC), on Thursday, announced the warmup fixtures for all the 16 participating teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. 

A total of 15 matches are scheduled to take place from October 10 to 19 at four different venues; Junction Oval, MCG, Gabba and Allan Border Field. 

The First-Round teams will play their warm-up games from 10 to 13 October. On the other hand, the teams who directly qualified for the Super 12 stage will play their practice matches on 17 and 19 October. India will be up against Australia and New Zealand in their two warm-up encounters. 

The showpiece event is slated to be played from 16 October to 13 November. The First Round will comprise 12 matches played between eight teams. In the first fixture, Sri Lanka will be locking horns with Namibia at Geelong. 

Afterwards, the Super-12 stage will kick off on October 22 with Australia facing New Zealand at the iconic SCG.
