Yorkshire's Harry Brook will be making his England red-ball debut against South Africa today in the third and final Test at the iconic Oval Stadium. Brook comes in for the injured Jonny Bairstow, who has been in red-hot form this year. The youngster himself is amongst the runs in the County Championship, having scored 967 runs with three tons and six half-centuries.

On the eve of the Test, Brook spoke about grabbing hold of any opportunity, playing for England, and not thinking about the result. The 23-year-old will be high on confidence heading into the match, having belted South African bowlers in a tour game earlier.

"I'm taking every minute as it comes, not thinking about the outcome, how many runs I'm going to score or whatever. I'm just enjoying the moment. I'm just hitting a ball. I'm already living the dream and looking forward to it."

Talking about replacing Bairstow, Brook revealed the injured keeper-batter wished him well for the upcoming match. It will be a tall ask for Brook to emulate Bairstow, who amassed 1,061 in 10 Tests in 2022.

"I saw him yesterday (Tuesday). I think he's down here (in London) seeing the specialist. He just said good luck and enjoy it."

Regarded as one of the most promising talents in English domestic circuit, Brook has had modest success in first-class cricket, garnering 3207 runs at an average of 37.29.
