International cricket is set to return to Mohali, with India scheduled to play Australia in a T20I later in the month.

Ahead of the tie, Punjab Cricket Association has decided to rename two stands at the IS Bindra PCA International Stadium after former India greats Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh.

Terrace Block will be named after India's fourth-highest Test wicket-taker Harbhajan, while the North Pavilion will be coined after Yuvraj, the 2011 World Cup's player of the tournament.

Both players represented Punjab state in the First-Class level while playing active cricket.

Speaking to Indian Express, PCA secretary Dilsher Khanna lauded the duo's contribution to the state and country.  Khanna further added that the association plans to name more stands after prominent players from Punjab.

“In a historic decision, the PCA executive committee, under president Gulzar Inder Chahal, has decided to name the Terrace Block and North Pavillion stands after legendary Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, respectively. Both have been icons for Punjab as well as Indian cricket and fans as well players will be inspired on seeing the stands being named after these two cricketers,”

Former Ranji Trophy-winning Punjab captain Bhupinder Singh Senior lauded the PCA for their new initiative.

"It is good that the PCA has named two stands after Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh. They should also honour former Indian cricketers, who have done the nation proud, by naming other stands."

Australia will tour India to play three T20Is between September 20 to 25.
