Team India were dealt a huge blow when their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 due to a knee injury.

Jadeja to miss the T20 World Cup 2022?

His participation in the upcoming T20I World Cup 2022 is also in doubt as a knee injury takes at least six to eight weeks to heal.

However, head coach Rahul Dravid, speaking in the pre-match press conference before India's Super 4 clash against Pakistan, maintained that the all-rounder is not ruled out of the showpiece event, saying that it is too early to speak on this issue.

"Jadeja has injured his knee; he is obviously ruled out of the Asia Cup. He is under the care of the medical team, he is going to see the doctors, see the experts. The World Cup is still a fair bit away, and we don't want to jump to any conclusions and rule him out or rule him in. We'll see how it goes.”

Axar Patel was named as Jadeja's replacement in the ongoing Asia Cup tournament. However, he has not featured in any of the games so far.

Deepak Hooda was drafted in the team as his direct replacement in the Super-4 game against Pakistan and in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka as well.
