The Counties have reportedly approached the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for more T20 Blast games on Friday nights from 2024 for the growth of the competition.

The county clubs is of the same opinion that playing more games of the T20 Blast on Friday eve will help in the promotion of the game around the country as the games on Friday will mean people will have an off on weekends and they can enjoy more games on Friday eve.

The report also suggests that greater regularity in the schedule from the 2024 season would make it easier for fans to know when matches are being played and make it easier for them to afford to attend multiple matches throughout the season – especially important given the current cost of living crisis.

Many provinces believe that the overcrowded schedule of T20 Blast matches is undermining support for the competition.

According to a report from the Telegraph, provinces are pushing to make more changes alongside their demand of having more Twenty20 Blast matches to be played on Friday night to better promote the competition as part of domestic schedule changes from 2024.

The new proposal of Friday Blast games will allow each province to play about eight group matches on Friday night, with four at home.

However, making any sort of changes in the schedule of England's premier domestic T20 competition will depend on the decision taken by the organizing board.
