The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Nominees for its Women's Player of the Month for August.

Two Australian players, Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath, and one Indian player Jemimah Rodrigues will be in the running for the prestigious award.

Mooney and McGrath were part of Australia's gold-medal-winning campaign at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games.  Rodrigues won the silver medal with India, losing the final at Edgbaston by nine runs.

Jemimah Rodrigues

Rodrigues (146) finished the CWG tournament as India's second-highest run-getter behind Smriti Mandhana (159).

She scored an unbeaten 56* against Barbados in a must-win match. In the semi-finals against England, the youngster ended notched 44 off 31, which proved to be a game-changer for the Indian side.

In the final versus Australia, she scored a 33-ball-33 but fell at the wrong time, costing India dearly.

Beth Mooney

Leading from the front, Mooney (179) was the leading run-scorer in the competition, ahead of New Zealand's Sophie Devine (177). The left-handed opener stood strong for her side during crunch moments, including a 41-ball 61 in the final against India, which pipped the stride in her team's favour.

Tahlia McGrath

The joint second highest-wicket taker for Australia in the competition, with 8, McGrath showcased her all-rounder skills to the full potential. Her knocks against Pakistan and New Zealand proved important for the side's success.

She played in the final against India despite testing positive for covid-19 but could not perform to the best of her abilities in the game.
