Pakistan's most reliable batter in T20 cricket in the past few years, Mohammad Rizwan, proved his worth in gold, guiding his side to a thrilling win over arch-rivals India last evening in Dubai in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.

Rizwan, who continues to be a thorn in India's path to glory against their neighbours, was taken to the hospital after the conclusion of the game.

The make-shift opener scored 71 crucial runs in Pakistan's record chase against India. The wicketkeeper injured his right knee after landing awkwardly during the first innings.

A report in TheNews states that the 30-year-old will undergo a precautionary MRI scan to accurately assess the extent of his injury.

Talking about his approach in the match, Rizwan said,

"The plan, as always, was to score against the new ball with one of us (himself and Babar Azam) batting long. I tried to stay till the end."
