Dhoni is all set to captain CSK in the next edition of the Indian Premier League in 2023. CSK's CEO Kashi Vishwanathan confirmed the development that the former World Cup winning Indian captain will be leading the side in the 2023 season as well. Dhoni has been CSK's captain since the inception of the tournament except for a brief period last season where Ravindra Jadeja led the side.

Ravindra Jadeja was named captain for IPL 2022

Owing to Dhoni's age, the CSK management opted to go for Ravindra Jadeja as the skipper for the 2022 season. However, the role of captaincy did not suit the Indian all-rounder as not only the team failed to win games (only two wins in eight games) but Jadeja's personal form also started to drop drastically.

Therefore the role of CSK's captain eventually came back to the man himself. Fans will be more than thrilled to witness Dhoni taking the field as the skipper of the yellow army and will be hoping the side lifts the trophy for the fifth time in the next edition of the IPL.
