Former Indian opener, Deep Dasgupta has stated that Rishabh Pant should be in the playing XI as he brings flexibility to the side. The dynamic keeper-batter was axed from the playing XI against Pakistan in India's tournament opener and the decision received a lot of criticism from the fans.

In an exclusive chat with journalist Vimal Kumar in the show - OneCricket's Love of Cricket, Dasgupta shared his views on the importance that Pant brings to the table.

"Rishabh should have played, I would prefer him always. He has the flexibility. India have a lot of finishers- Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant can do that job as well. So I would always prefer Rishabh."

Dasgupta also talks about the role clarity each player should have

"I think the communication is very important. Role clarity is very important in T20I. It is such a fast-paced game, that one needs to know what the player has to do. The clarity comes when the coaches communicate with the player,

If the clarity is there with Rishabh, then it's completely fine. But if it’s not there, then the players question his position and clarity in the role."

India and Pakistan are set to clash once again in the Super 4 game on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if India can beat their arch-rivals once again.
