England have been dealt a massive blow with star batter Jonny Bairstow ruled out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Bairstow will miss the third Test against South Africa as well.

According to a report from the ECB, Bairstow sustained a lower limb injury while playing golf on Friday.

The 32-year-old has been in scintillating form in recent months, especially in Tests. His absence in the third Test will come as a blow for the Three Lions.

England have already confirmed the Nottinghamshire batter Ben Duckett as his replacement for the third Test and an announcement will be made in due course regarding his replacement in the T20I World Cup later this year in Australia.

It remains to be seen whether Jonny Bairstow's absence from the World Cup opens up a window of opportunity for Jason Roy, who was left out of the T20I World Cup squad earlier.

Bairstow has now taken to social media to send out a message to his fans.
