St Lucia Kings will be up against Trinbago Knight Riders in the second match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022, set to be played at Warner Park on Thursday, September 1.

The four-time champions Trinbago Knight Riders, who boast of a star-studded batting line-up with the likes of Kieron Pollard, Colin Munro, and Nicholas Pooran have added more firepower to their batting after acquiring the services of the star all-rounder Andre Russell.

Their star spinner Maheesh Theekshana, however, will not be available for the first few matches as he is currently with Sri Lanka in the UAE for the Asia Cup 2022. Apart from this, the team looks balanced on paper. 

Speaking of Saint Lucia Kings, the team finished the last season as the runner-up, having lost the finals against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by three wickets. Led by Faf du Plessis, they will look to spark a turnaround in their fortune this year.

  • Andre Russell: He is one of the most effortless hitters of the cricket ball in T20 cricket. So far, the power hitter amassed 1491 runs in 69 CPL innings with an unbeaten 121 being his highest score.
