The inaugural edition of the Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is all set to get underway on Thursday, September 1 with all the matches of the tournament set to be played at Warner Park, Basseterre, West Indies.  

A total of three teams, namely – Barbados Royals Women, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women, and Trinbago Knight Riders Women – will be participating in the inaugural edition of the Women's T20 Caribbean extravaganza. 

Meanwhile, the opening fixture of the tournament will see the Hayley Matthews-led Barbados Royals Women taking the field against Deandra Dottin's Trinbago Knight Riders Women. 

Both the teams have got a terrific blend of both experienced campaigners and young talents, who will be eager to perform and make a case for themselves in the T20 cricket arena. 

Key Players 

  • Chloe-Lesleigh Tryon, the South African batter, finished the Women's 6ixty 2022 as the leading run-scorer with 114 runs in five matches. She will be looking to start from where she left off for Barbados Women.
  • Deandra Dottin is the name that needs no introduction in T20 cricket. The skipper led the team from the front in the recently concluded Women's 6ixty. She finished off the season as the leading run scorer for Trinbago with 75 runs from three matches. 
  • Hayley Kristen Matthews: The Barbados skipper has got some decent knocks under her belt in the last few outings. In the Women's 6ixty 2022, she ended up scoring 63 runs from five matches.
