Clinical bowling effort helps Spirit to restrict Phoenix
Opting to bowl first, the experienced pacer Megan Schutt sent the key batters Amy Jones (5) and Ellyse Perry (0) back to the hut.
A couple of overs later, Sophie Devine was involved in an unfortunate run-out dismissal, which already meant Phoenix would fail to post a strong total on the board.
Evelyn Jones (24) and Georgia Elwiss (14) displayed composure to help the team in finishing with a score of 82. Apart from Schutt, Amelia Kerr and Danielle Gibson scalped two wickets each for Spirit.

In response to an easy chase, Mooney (1) was run-out, while Sophie Molienux dismissed the in-form Gibson (0), which opened the floodgates for Phoenix.
The likes of Amelia Kerr (0) and Charlotte Dean (6) could not bring their A-game as well. However, Naomi Dattani and Grace Scrivens were mature enough to steer the team at an asking rate.
Dattani (28*) and Scrivens (26*) added an unbeaten 57 runs to help Spirit in securing a victory with three balls to spare.
Emily Arlott was the pick of the bowlers for Phoenix with two scalps.
