'We really want Virat Kohli to come back to form' - Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan

The Indian Cricket Team got off to a great start at the Asia Cup 2022 campaign with a five-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday in Dubai. Their next assignment is against Hong Kong, qualified for the tournament after winning a recently held qualifying tournament. Ahead the clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan has heaped praises on the former India captain and current batsman Virat Kohli, while expressing his wish to see the out of form batsman among runs.

Nizakat wants Virat Kohli to hit top form

“I am a big fan of Virat Kohli, he played well against Pakistan, we really want him to come back in form & score lots of runs."

Khan also recalled the last time when India and Hong Kong played against each other, while saying that any team can come out on top in the game’s shortest format.

"We lost by just 20 runs when we last faced India at the Asia Cup in 2018. Anything can happen in a T20 game. You don't when a bowler can deliver a good spell, or a batter hits some quick runs in a couple of overs."

After taking a short break from cricket, Kohli played his first international match after a month when India and Pakistan met on Sunday. The 33-year-old scored 35 off 34 balls which may appear to be a substandard contribution, but it actually laid the foundation for India’s win.

India and Hong Kong have never played a T20I against each other. The two teams have played two ODIs against each other, both of which were won by the Men in Blue. India last played against Hong Kong at the 2018 Asia Cup, winning the match by 26 runs.
