Australian hard-hitting batter Chris Lynn has re-signed with Northamptonshire which will enable him to play for the club in the Vitality T20 Blast in 2023.

Lynn will return to play for the Northamptonshire Steelbacks as their main overseas signing priority for 2023.

In his very first stint with the Steelbacks this year, Lynn proved his worth at the top of the order for the Steelbacks by smashing 516 runs in just ten innings at an average of 64.5 and a strike rate of over 150. He also became the first-ever Steelbacks player to record two T20 centuries in a single Blast season.

Despite his heroics in the tournament, the Northants failed to reach the knockouts this year and finished the season seventh in the points table.

Next year, the destructive top-order batter will be available for the entirety of the Blast tournament in 2023, which is expected to take place in June and July, although a formal schedule has to be decided upon through discussions with the other counties over the coming weeks.

Lynn keen to add value to the group

"I loved my time at Northamptonshire this year and hopefully I can keep adding that value. Whether it's with the bat with runs on the field or adding value off the field, helping the youngsters, the leaders in the team, all the coaching staff – it's something I'm really keen to do. The development of the junior lads and all of the players for that matter is a big priority for me as an overseas pro,"

Cobb delighted with Lynn's return

"I'm sure he wouldn't have been short of interest from other clubs, so it's a real sign of what he thinks of the group and the club as a whole that he wants to come back and get us that one step further."
