India's batting stalwart Virat Kohli on Sunday (August 28) added another feather to his cap when he became the first Indian cricketer to play 100 matches across three formats of the game.

Kohli achieved the remarkable feat while making his 100th appearance in T20 internationals in the ongoing match against the arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai International Stadium. The right-handed batter also became the first Indian player to feature in 100 T20Is. He is the second Indian to play a hundred T20Is after skipper Rohit Sharma.

The star Indian batter became only the second player in world cricket after New Zealand legend Ross Taylor to complete a century of international appearances in all three forms of the game.

The Delhi batter, who was the first player to score 3000 runs in T20Is, has amassed 3343 runs with an average of 49.90, including 30 half-centuries and a best of 94.

Besides T20Is, the top order batter has also played 102 Tests and 262 ODIs, scoring 8,074 and 12,344 runs respectively.

The 33-year-old is going through a lean patch with the bat and he will be looking to rediscover his form in the Asia Cup 2022 as he makes his comeback to the Indian team after a short break from the game.

This year in particular has been horrific for Kohli. In five T20Is in 2022, he has scored 116 runs at an average of near about 20. His 52 score this year is his best in the format. He has played for India in 17 matches across all forms this year, however, in 20 innings, he has only managed to score 511 runs. Only four half-centuries, with a top score of 79, have come off his bat.
