Fire posts a competitive total on the board

Opting to bat first, Fire got off to a stable start with the rich form of Sarah Bryce, who hit 36 off 30, laced with five fours. However, the experienced campaigners Tammy Beaumont and Rachael Haynes could not provide notable contributions.

It was a breezy innings from Annabel Sutherland (31* off 22), and support from Nicola Carey (19 off 13), which paved the way for Fire to post a total of 123 on the board.

Jenny Gunn was the pick of the bowlers for the Superchargers with two scalps.

In response, Superchargers were rocked by the double blow from Claire Nicholas, who sent Alyssa Healy and Bess Heath back into the hut.

The in-form batters Laura Wolvaardt and Hollie Armitage resurrected the innings and steered the team at a brisk rate by odd boundaries coming in their favour.
