Swepson excited for the upcoming Australia tour of India

Australian leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson intends to be part of the squad for Australia's four-match Test tour of India early next year.

Swepson, a leg-spinner, combined with ace off-spinner Nathan Lyon will play a key role in Australia's next tour of India as the Aussies will be itching to claim their first series win on the Indian soil since 2004-05.

Speaking at the launch of the Big Bash League draft, the Queenslander said that he has set his 'one eye' on the India tour as Australia will be looking for conquer the final frontier. 

"I've had one eye on it (the India tour) for a while, so I'd be lying if I told you I didn't," Mitchell Swepson told ESPNCricinfo at the launch of the BBL draft."

India is the 'final frontier' for the Australian team

Swepson asserted that India's tour will be a very important one considering the all-important World Test Championship points at stake.

"It's certainly a massive tour for Australian cricket. India in India is the final frontier as some people would say, so it will be massive series and the way the World Test Championship is, just adds that extra element.

Australia are scheduled to tour India for four Tests in February and March 2023 in a high-profile series that could decide the two finalists of the World Test Championship.

Swepson, 28, was part of a players' group from the National Cricket Centre (NCC) in Brisbane to train at the MRF academy in Chennai in India a few years ago. He will be hoping to fix his place in the playing XI alongside Lyon.
