West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews is set to depart for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2022) season and its preceding T10 tournament, the 6ixty. Similarly, Barbadian cricketer Deandra Dottin is already on her way back home for the two West Indies-based limited-overs tournaments.

Welsh Fire and Manchester Originals find replacements for CPL-bound WI stars

Welsh Fire have roped in New Zealand’s all-round star Maddy Green as a replacement for Hayley Matthews for The Hundred Women’s 2022 competition. Matthews played her last game of the season against the Southern Brave at Sophia Gardens on Monday, August 22.

On the other hand, Deandra Dottin has been replaced by Australian women’s batter Erin Burns for the remainder of the Manchester Originals’ campaign this season.

While Matthews is set to lead the Barbados Royals, Dottin will be captaining the Trinbago Knight Riders in both, CPL as well as the 6ixty.

The Women’s 6ixty 2022 season will commence from August 24 with a match between the Royals and the Knight Riders in St. Kitts and Nevis. The three-team tournament will conclude on August 28 with a final at the same venue.

The 10-overs women’s event will immediately be followed by the inaugural edition of the Women’s CPL 2022 season. The 20-overs competition will also feature three teams, as opposed to six teams used in the men’s event.
