Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday (18 August) opened the player registration for their home-grown T20 League slated to be played from 4 January until 10 February 2023.

The South African as well as overseas players interested to participate in the much-awaited competition can now register themselves until August 28.

In terms of definition for the players, an individual will be called an overseas player, if he holds a non-South African and is not eligible to play for South Africa, as per ICC regulations. The South African category will include players who have a South African passport and are eligible to play for the country.

In addition, the second category (South African) may also comprise players contracted to play at the national or provincial level in South Africa or abroad.

It is also known that all the franchises have announced their pre-auction signings ahead of the opening of the registration window. After the registration process ends, the date for the open auction is likely to be announced in due course of time.
