Chris Jordan ruled out of The Hundred 2022

Southern Brave bowler Chris Jordan, on Tuesday (August 16) has been ruled out of the remainder of The Hundred 2022 Men’s competition due to injury.

The details of his injury are unspecified by the Southern Brave management. The tearaway quick suffered a blow to his finger while playing against London Spirits and missed the next Brave's next match against Oval Invincibles two days later at the Kennington Oval. 

The 33-year-old had thus far bagged three wickets in as many games at an economy of 8.50. Jordan recorded his best figures in the ongoing edition of The Hundred against the Welsh Fire on August 3, when he took two for 16.

This is the second time in the tournament that a Brave player has got injured and has been ruled out of the tournament. Earlier, Tymal Mills was ruled out of the tournament after the left-arm pacer succumbed to a toe injury on August 14. 


Left arm pacer George Garton is managing his workload as he recovers from a long COVID-19 layoff while the availability of Craig Overton and Marcus Stoinis is restricted by international commitments.

The James Vince-led Southern Brave have struggled in The Hundred 2022 thus far. After starting their campaign with a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over the Welsh Fire, the team has lost three consecutive games in a row and are dwelling at the bottom of the table with only 2 points to their name.

In their previous outing, they lost to the Oval Invincibles by seven wickets. Brave are placed sixth in the points table. They are next scheduled to square off with the Manchester Originals on Thursday, August 18 at The Rose Bowl in Southampton.

The defending champions will be looking to rope in the replacements for both Mills and Jordan.
