Shahbaz Ahmed announced as Washington Sundar's replacement

In a remarkable turn of events, promising all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has received his maiden India call-up as Washington Sundar's injury replacement for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe. As a result, the left-arm tweaker is set to spearhead the visitors' spin attack alongside Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.   

Shahbaz has been a useful player for Royal Challengers Bangalore

Regarded as a fine all-rounder in the Indian domestic circuit, Shahbaz has 662 runs to his name in 26 List A appearances at a fabulous average of 47.28. 

He has also exhibited his bowling prowess to perfection in the domestic One-day games, scalping 24 wickets at a surreal economy of 4.43. 

The swashbuckling southpaw has been associated with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for three years. He had his most successful season this year, slamming 219 runs and picking four wickets for the Faf du Plessis- led outfit.
