Birmingham Phoenix have availed the services of Aussie pacer Ben Dwarshuis to replace Adam Milne for The Hundred 2022.

Milne has been ruled out of the ongoing tournament due to a persistent Achilles injury. The 30-year-old could not join the New Zealand squad for their European Tour as well.

The last edition of The Hundred witnessed Milne emerging as the top wicket-taker for Phoenix with 12 wickets.

Dwarshuis will arrive on Monday (15 August) and will join the squad ahead of the home match against Northern Superchargers on Friday at Edgbaston.

The New South Wales bowling all-rounder has scalped 117 wickets in 97 T20 matches.

Craig Flindall, Birmingham Phoenix General Manager thinks the 28-year-old will be an exciting addition to the pace-bowling group.

“We’re really pleased to be able to recruit such an experienced fast bowler in Ben. Naturally, we’re disappointed that Adam couldn’t feature for us this year, but Ben will add a left-arm option to our exciting group," said Flindall.
