The first edition of the Women's 100 competition was, without doubt, a huge success as it not only saw outstanding performances with both the ball and the bat in the hand but also the turning up of huge crowds to witness some high-octane cricket.  

The Oval Invincibles thrashed the Southern Brave in the final by 72 runs to win the first-ever edition. 

With the second edition of the Women's Hundred getting underway, we'll take a look at some of the most memorable matches from the previous edition of the tournament. 


5. Oval Invincibles vs Welsh Fire: Fire won by 12 runs

This fixture between the Invincibles and the Fire was a low-scoring humdinger. The Invincibles won the toss and chose to bowl first and produced an economical bowling performance to reduce the Fire to 112-6.  

However, the Fire came up with an even better bowling performance as Nicole Harvey and Hayley Mathews shared five of the total nine wickets that fell to reduce the Invincibles to 100 and win the match by 12 runs.


4. Trent Rockets vs Birmingham Phoenix: Phoenix won by 3 wickets

The fixture was supposed to be an important one for the Birmingham Phoenix as they had to win this match to stay in contention for a spot in the playoffs in that edition. 

The Rockets' innings were more of a scratchy one, as no individual batter got going but still ended up with 126 courtesy cameos from Heather Graham and Abigail Freeborn. 

The Phoenix kept losing wickets at regular intervals before Erin Burns and Emily Arlott joined forces and help their side win the match. 


3. Birmingham Phoenix vs London Spirit: Spirit won by 3 wickets

London Spirit won the toss and decided to bowl first in the second match of the 2021 Hundred tournament. Evelyn Jones' 47 helped the Phoenix reach 128 in their stipulated 100 deliveries. 

In reply London Kept losing wickets on regular intervals before Amara Carr and Danielle Gibson kept their calm and won the match for their for their side with just 4 balls to spare. 


2. Birmingham Phoenix vs Trent Rockets: Rockets won by 11 runs

Heather Graham's unbeaten 44 off 21 balls led Trent Rockets to an 11-run win after they posted 145 for 5 from their 100 deliveries.  

After opting to bat, the Rockets struggled a bit as the innings were left in desperate need of a late push which was provided by Heather Graham who scored 44*. The Phoenix lost regular wickets in their chase as no one batter really got going.  

Isabelle Wong, who batted at No. 9, threatened to take the game away with her 27 off 11 for the Phoenix in their chase but the Rockets held their nerve and went on to win the match by 4 runs. 


1. Northern Superchargers vs Oval Invincibles: Superchargers won by 4 runs

An excellent all-around performance from Alice Davidson-Richards helped Northern Superchargers seal a thrilling four-run win against Oval Invincibles at Headingley. 

Despite limited support from the other batters, Davidson-Richards struck a 30-ball 42 which helped her side finish with a total of 109 for 8. Led by Davidson-Richards, The Superchargers put up a spirited bowling display in the second innings to win by a slim margin of just 4 runs.
