Veteran Netherlands keeper-batter Wesley Barresi has been recalled for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan, commencing on August 16 in Rotterdam.

On Saturday, the Netherlands selection committee announced a 15-players squad for the three world cup qualifying matches against the Men in Green.

Barresi has been drafted into the team for the first time since 2019. His last appearance for the Netherlands came way back in June 2019 during the series against Zimbabwe.

The veteran Dutch cricketer made his debut for the Netherlands in 2010. In 32 ODIs, he has piled up 927 runs at an average of 35.65. Apart from keeping wickets, the 38-year-old can bowl off-spin.

Arnav Jain earns his maiden ODI call-up

20-year-old batting allrounder Arnav Jain has received his maiden call-up after his impressive outings at the junior level. Barresi and Arnav have been included in the squad, with a host of first-choice players participating in The Hundred and the Royal London ODI Cup 2022. Meanwhile, leg spinner Philippe Boissevain, who played an ODI during the series against England, has been overlooked for this series.

Netherlands to miss the services of seven players for the Pakistan series

The Netherlands will be without their seven key players as they miss out due to their commitments in the ongoing Men's Hundred and Royal London One Day Cup.

While Colin Ackermann and Fred Klaassen are playing for the Manchester Originals, veteran all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe and Timm van der Gugten are representing Northern Superchargers and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred 2022.

Apart from these four, Shane Snater, Brandon Glover, and Paul van Meekeren are involved with their respective county teams in the Royal One Day Cup 2022.
