RPSG Durban announce the first five signings for CSA T20 League


The RPSG Group, which now owns the Durban franchise, have announced the first five acquisitions for the inaugural edition of the CSA T20 League. 

Quinton de Kock, Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers, Reece Topley and Prenalen Subrayen are the five players confirmed to be featuring for the RPSG Durban team in January next year. 


Quinton, Holder and Mayers are also part of the RPSG-owned Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. However, Mayers could not feature in any of the games for the franchise in the 2022 season. 

"I welcome all the players to the RPSG Durban family. It's a new beginning , full of hope and promise . We are confident that the talented players will add to the foundation of the team and will uphold our core philosophy of performance," said RPSG owner Sanjiv Goenka. 


Recent performances of these five players


Quinton de Kock

The Proteas batter has been undergoing a lean patch in international cricket. Quinton could score only 17 runs in three T20I innings against England, followed by 14 runs in two appearances against Ireland. 


Jason Holder

Holder was ordinary with five scalps in as many appearances in the T20I series. The recent T20I game witnessed him contributing 25 runs and taking a single wicket. 


Kyle Mayers

Mayers was consistent in the recent series against India. The 29-year-old garnered 110 runs in four T20I innings, and scored 114 runs in the three ODI matches. 


Reece Topley

England pacer Topley received recognition by emerging as the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps in the white-ball leg series against India. 


Prenalen Subrayen 

The off-spinner Subrayen took seven wickets in eight games of the CSA T20 Challenge earlier this year, which was his last T20 appearance.
