Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar has reportedly sustained a shoulder injury during a Royal London One Day Cup match on Wednesday (August 10).

Lancashire Cricket took to Twitter to inform the Cricket fraternity of Sundar leaving the field after he landed heavily on the ground, and received a blow to his left shoulder.

The 22-year-old was named in the 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe Tour to be played from 18 to 22 August.

In his first stint in English Cricket, Sundar scalped eight wickets and scored 52 runs in two appearances of County Championship 2022 for Red Roses.

In the ongoing One Day Cup, he has contributed 30 runs and picked up three wickets in three matches.

Sundar's tryst with injuries

The talented all-rounder has not been able to get a longer rope in international cricket due to his frequent injury concerns.

Last year, Sundar could not feature in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a finger injury. He returned for Men in Blue earlier this year, but sustained a hamstring injury during home series against West Indies.

The IPL 2022 witnessed the spinner missing most of the matches owing to a hand injury, which also prevented him from the selection into the Indian team as well.
