The Women's competition of The Hundred saw some terrific bowling performances last year. With just 20 balls in the pocket, the bowlers bowled out of the ordinary spells to restrict the power-hitters. Let's have a look at the top 5 bowling spells in the history of the competition.

1.Marizanne Kapp vs Southern Brave: 4/9

Proteas star all-rounder, Marizanne Kapp represents the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. Right-arm pacer last year in the match against Southern Brave troubled the batters as she scalped four crucial wickets and just gave nine runs in her spell of 18 balls resulting with an economy rate of just 0.50.

2. Natasha Farrant vs Birmingham Phoenix: 4/10

Another Invincible on this list, England's left-arm pacer Tash Farrant was the highest wicket-taker as she picked up 18 wickets in the competition. Farrant bowled a terrific spell against the Phoenix where she grabbed four wickets and just conceded ten runs in 19 balls at an economy of 0.52. However, England's star bowler is ruled out of this year's competition because of a back injury.

3. Amanda-Jade Wellington vs Invincibles: 4/12

Australia's leg breaker, Amanda Wellington represents Southern Brave in the competition. Last year in the match against The Oval Invincibles, she took a four-wicket haul and just gave twelve runs in her 20 balls spell at an economy rate of 0.60. Overall, Wellington took fourteen dismissals in the tournament, making her the fourth highest wicket-taker of the competition.

4. Anya Shrubsole vs Trent Rockets: 4/13

Another Brave on this list, England's veteran right-arm pacer, Anya Shrubsole led from the front against the Trent Rockets match last year where she grabbed four wickets which troubled the Rockets batters. In her excellent bowling spell, Shrubsole just gave thirteen runs in 20 balls at an economy rate of 0.65 .

5. Sammy-Jo Johnson vs Northern Supercharges: 4/15

Australia's right-arm fast bowler, Sammy Johnson represented Trent Rockets in the 2021 edition. Bowling against Northern Superchargers, Johnson caused difficulty to the Superchargers batters as she picked up four wickets in 20 balls and just gave fifteen runs at an economy rate of 0.75. 

The Australian bowler grabbed 15 wickets in the competition making her the second highest wicket-taker of The Hundred 2021.
