It's an achievement in itself: Kieron Pollard on playing 600 T20s
Kieron Pollard completed his 600th T20 appearance playing for London Spirit
Former West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard became the first ever cricketer to feature in 600 matches in overall T20 Cricket on Monday.
The T20 globetrotter achieved this remarkable feat while playing for London Spirit in the ongoing second edition of The Hundred.
Pollard bid adieu to international cricket in April 2022, but he continues to play in T20 leagues across the globe.
In 2007, the Trinidadian cricketer made his first appearance in the T20s and is the second-highest run scorer in the format with 11723 runs.
Over the years Pollard has represented many T20 teams around the globe, most notably national team West Indies, domestic team Trinidad and Tobago, Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL), Adelaide Strikers, and Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League (BBL).
He has also featured for Dhaka Gladiators and Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL), Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Tridents, St. Lucia Stars in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), etc.
Pollard enters the 600 Club
Commenting on his 600 games long T20 career, Pollard said that it is an achievement he never thought he would achieve in his career. The hard-hitting all-rounder promised to keep working hard and give his everything to enjoy his cricket.
"It's an achievement in itself, 600 games in any format. I've never set out to play this many games or to play this format for this period of time, but it's something that came along and I've enjoyed it so far. Let's see what happens as I go forward. I'll continue to try and work hard and enjoy playing cricket with a smile on my face. As long as the body holds up, I'm going to see how long I can go,"
